God Becomes A Problem For Obama

In America, Breaking News, Obama, Religion on February 24, 2010 at 7:27 pm

Obama’s campaign to remove God from his new America is now facing international challenges.  Recently, the Chicago Council On Global Affairs, after a two-year study, determined the following:

(via Washington Post) American foreign policy is handicapped by a God gap, a narrow, ill-informed and “uncompromising Western secularism” that feeds religious extremism, threatens traditional cultures, and fails to engage and encourage religious groups that promote peace, human rights and the general welfare of their communities.

In the following video Obama mocks the Bible while remarking, “we are no longer a Christian nation”.

So that video was then, and this is now.  Obama’s choice is clear: stay God-neutral while foreign nations grow uneasy, or present a manufactured renewal of your faith to the world.  Strangely, I always believed one’s faith came before everything, not because(who knew foreign policy would eventually bring Obama closer to God?)

(Washington Post continued)

In its report, “Engaging Religious Communities Abroad: A New Imperative for U.S. Foreign Policy,” the council’s 32-member task force warns of a serious “capabilities gap” and recommends that President Obama and his National Security Council make religion “an integral part of our foreign policy.”

The 99-page report was issued Tuesday and delivered to the White House, which is studying the issue, said Thomas Wright, the council’s executive director of studies. Some members of the independent task force also are working with the White House commission and they have been trading notes, Wright said. “We’re confident that everyone agrees this is a priority for this administration, not a matter of if we need to do this but how. We hope this report will give them a framework for how,” Wright said.

It will be interesting to see if the recommendation brings about a ‘change’ in the President’s God policy.

James O'Keefe: New Video Ready For Release

In Andrew Breitbart, Blogs, Breaking News, Government Lies on February 21, 2010 at 3:14 pm

(Re-posted from Politico.com) James O’Keefe, the self-styled guerilla investigative journalist celebrated for his video on ACORN and arrested last month in New Orleans in an attempted expose of Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu, got a rock star welcome at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday.

O’Keefe, 25, wasn’t scheduled to do any official events at CPAC, as the conference is known, but he attracted plenty of attention as he waded through the lobby of the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, where the conference is taking place, posing for pictures with admiring fans who wished him well in his pending court case.

O’Keefe became a instant conservative celebrity last year when he and a partner, Hannah Giles, released secretly recorded videos of them posing as a pimp and prostitute while soliciting advice from employees of ACORN, the liberal community organizing group, on how to set up a brothel.

But last month, after he and two other men entered Landrieu’s New Orleans district office pretending to be telephone repairmen, while a fourth man waited outside, they were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and charged with entering federal property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony, charges that carry maximum penalties of 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

According to an FBI affidavit, two of the men attempted to manipulate telephones and accessed the telephone closet, while O’Keefe filmed them on his cell phone camera.

Their supporters say their goal was to show that staffers for Landrieu, who became a target of conservative scorn for voting for the Senate healthcare overhaul after being promised additional Medicaid funding for her state, was ignoring constituent phone calls.

In a short interview in a hotel hallway, O’Keefe told POLITICO he had another investigative video “ready to go,” though he wouldn’t reveal the topic or the timing. “I’m always ready to go,” he said.

The ACORN videos, which resulted in a Congressional vote to stop federal funding for the group before a federal judge ordered the funding restored, will be recognized Friday evening with an award from XPAC, the acronym for “Xtremely Active Political Conservatives,” which is holding its own events at the conference.

O’Keefe – who had to get permission from his parole office to attend CPAC – told POLITICO he wasn’t sure if the terms of his probation would allow him to remain in Washington to accept the award or would require him to return to his parents’ home in New Jersey.

“My business model is I want to be a talent scout. I want to be an American idol for weaponized freedom fighters,” said Breitbart. “And that’s one of the reasons I love coming here.”

“I love meeting troublemakers,” Breitbart said, adding he was impressed by Basel and Dai, and intends to use CPAC to scout for more young people interested in activist journalism.

Breitbart said he continues to work with O’Keefe and intends to post his next video project, but said he only met Basel and a third person who was arrested in New Orleans, 24-year-old Stan Dai, at a Wednesday night party hosted by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks PAC.

Robert Gibbs Struggles To Keep A Straight Face

In Corruption, Government Lies, Health Care, Scott Brown on January 24, 2010 at 3:59 pm

According to Gibbs, Scott Brown’s win in Massachusetts is a great sign for Obama. The people are angry. They are angry about the last eight years [of George W. Bush], not Obama. Is anyone buying this? How long will it take before someone looks one of these delusional moonbats in the eye and says, “Are you kidding? You don’t make the slightest bit of sense.”

Let’s follow the argument: People are angry about the previous eight years of George W. Bush. Scott Brown walks in “lockstep” with George W. Bush (according to Obama, Coakley and Deval throughout the campaign). Hence, Scott Brown wins impossible election in the bluest state in the Country. Got it.

Here is part of the transcript taken from Gateway Pundit via Fox News:

Chris Wallace: It wasn’t the same thing that swept Barack Obama into office. Scott Brown explicitly campaigned against the Obama agenda. His approval rating among that electorate was 61%. Their enthusiasm for Republican policies among that electorate was 40%.

Chris Wallace: But your not suggesting that this was a mandate for Barack Obama?

Robert Gibbs: No. Of course not. But I’m also not suggesting that what you said a minute ago meets the truth test either.

Chris Wallace: You don’t think that when they voted for Scott Brown they were voting against Obama’s policies?

Robert Gibbs: That’s not what they told pollsters. No.

Robert Gibbs on Scott Brown’s win: That may be what he campaigned on but that’s not what the voters in Massachusetts said in the Washington Post poll… They did a poll of voters who participated in why they voted. Right. More people voted express their support for Barack Obama than to oppose him.

How long will the denial continue? John Edwards found the end of the road came in the form of an inconvenient paternity test. Only time will tell which piece of irrefutable evidence will ultimately force the rest to their knees; dare to dream.
