Obama's First Year; A Case Study In Failed Lessons And Poor Judgment

A good solid B+? Many would argue otherwise. President Obama has tirelessly maintained his stance that America simply needs to understand his vision for the future. The people simply aren’t listening. From where the President sits Americans seem the dumbest nation of people to ever be governed (not to mention extremely uncooperative). Or, could it be Obama is the one who fails to understand the people?

I took it upon myself to take a closer look at the many poor decisions the President has made since taking office. More often than not, poor decisions are the result of poor judgment. As I began to recall the many lapses in judgment by the young progressive, I struggle with where to begin. Due to overwhelming  examples, I will narrow the scope to six:

Have No Fear: "The Buck Stops Here"

In freedom, living free on January 7, 2010 at 9:59 pm

After delaying his speech several times, President Obama addressed the nation today regarding recent lapses in National security. During the speech the President declared, “the buck stops here”.  In an effort to “man up” Obama reassures the American people, they are safe under his watch.  Only time will tell if these words will result in action.

With so many broken promises surrounding health care, it remains to be seen if America will trust the Commander-in-chief’s new promise.  As the President gets up to speed on who we are actually fighting in this war, the enemy continues to strengthen.  Gateway Pundit explains:

“President Obama also said that we are at war against Al-Qaeda who is bent on killing us… But, was the Fort Hood killer Nidal Hassan an al-Qaeda member or a radical Islamist?
It would be nice if Barack Obama knew who exactly we are at war with.

Since Barack Obama took office there has been an increase in terrorist activity in the US. There have been 33 terror-related “events” on these shores since 9-11. 13 of those events occurred in 2009.”

Let’s hope he figures this out soon…

UPDATE: Ted Koppel on attempted terror attack: “I would classify it as an absolute triumph for al-Qaeda”

America Welcomes Terrorism

In freedom, Integrity, living free, Religion on January 7, 2010 at 7:38 pm

America.  What a strong and courageous Country we once were – and along came hope and change.  Terrorists everywhere are jumping for jihad with America’s newfound sensitivity.  Throughout the eight years of Bush’s presidency our Country was “arrogant, ignorant, and brash”, but we were safe.  It sure is nice to know the world no longer sees America as brash.

Barack Obama began his young presidency with a pledge to “fundamentally transform America”.  The first order of business: apologize for past transgressions. For months our subservient Commander-in-Chief rattled off speech after speech explaining how, under his leadership, America would never be the same; a promise he surely kept.

Eventually, the speeches became reality and Obama began a worldwide tour of bows and beers.  A hug-it-out beer summit here, a bow to a Middle Eastern Sheik there and before we know it, change is underway.  In the spirit of hope and change Obama made a new pledge to shut down Guantanamo Bay, a home for failed jihadists. Obama suggests Guantanamo is largely responsible for terrorism in America.  Gateway Pundit explains:

“Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula first came to prominence in Saudi Arabia in May 2003. There is absolutely no proof that Gitmo had anything to do with the group’s formation. The first operational leader of AQAP was killed in June 2003.”

If GITMO actually closes, more than half its detainees will return to Yemen, a growing hotbed for young terrorists.  Is it really a surprise Al Qaeda remains one move ahead while our US President dances two steps behind the music?  Surrendering lunch money to a schoolyard bully has never been a practice of the United States, until now.

Obama Gives Interpol Authority Over US Constitution

In communism, Corruption, freedom, living free on January 3, 2010 at 4:16 am

On January 3rd 1983 President Ronald Reagan commissioned Executive Order 12425. What does the Order do? Townhall.com explains:

“Reagan’s order recognized Interpol as an International Organization and gave it privileges and immunities commonly extended to foreign diplomats. Reagan opened the door to allow Interpol to operate in partnership with the U.S. but with significant constitutional safeguards. Specifically, Interpol’s property and assets remained subject to search and seizure by American law enforcement, and its archived records remained subject to public scrutiny under provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. Interpol had to answer to the FBI and U.S. courts under Reagan’s order.”

In short, Reagan ensures the Constitution of The United States remains the highest law of the land. President Reagan’s Order guarantees Americans Constitutional protections from Interpol. In addition, Order 12425 mandates that Interpol stay open to scrutiny by the United States government. Sadly, Reagan’s protections are now gone.
