For the past five days I have been neck-deep in IT shenanigans far beyond my pay grade.   Next week the Raw Deal will take on a new, sleeker and more reader-friendly look.  During the changeover I immersed myself in other blogs for inspiration.  Often, I enjoy taking a break from the norm and find myself reading things of a completely different nature.  This evening I stumbled upon a most unique and entertaining post by Sam Sommers, Ph.D. and Social Psychologist at Tufts university.  Here’s what I found: Read the rest of this entry »

[Breaking News] Nigeria: 300 Christians Killed With Machetes

In Breaking News, national security, Religion, terrorism, War, World News on March 8, 2010 at 12:40 am

Gateway Pundit has the story:

Nigerian Muslim herders attacked Christian villages with machetes at 3 in the morning. The Muslims hacked the Christians as they fled out of their homes. Up to 300 are feared dead.

File photo shows workers closing mass graves in Jos in central Nigeria where dozens of people killed during violent religious clashes near the city have been buried. Security forces in the country have been placed on red alert after a new outburst of sectarian violence left at least 100 people dead, mainly women and children, as machete wielding gangs burned down villages. (AFP/Pius Utomi Ekpei)

Reuters reported:

Nigeria’s acting president Sunday ordered the security forces to hunt down those behind clashes involving Muslim herders and Christian villagers in which more than 300 people may have been killed.

The latest unrest in Nigeria’s central Plateau state comes at a difficult time, with acting leader Goodluck Jonathan trying to assert his authority while ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua remains too sick to govern the oil-producing nation.

Villagers in Dogo Nahawa, just south of the state capital Jos, said Hausa-Fulani herders from surrounding hills attacked at about 3 a.m. (10 p.m. EST), shooting into the air before cutting those who came out of their homes with machetes.

A Red Cross official said at least two other nearby communities were also targeted, in an area close to where sectarian clashes killed hundreds of people in January, but that it was too early to give an overall death toll.

A Reuters witness counted more than 120 bodies — most lying in Dogo Nahawa, others taken to mortuaries in Jos — but Plateau State Commissioner for Information Gregory Yenlong said more than 300 people, including women and children, had died.

The Nigerian Guardian has more on the attacks:

“The attack, yet another jihad and provocation of the Christians, started at about 1.30 a.m. last night. We are in touch with the survivors though many of them are still in trauma.

“Dogo Nahawa is a Christian community. The eye-witnesses say the Hausa-Fulani Muslim militants came chanting ‘Allahukabar’ and broke into homes, cutting human beings, including children and women with their knives and cutlasses.

God Becomes A Problem For Obama

In America, Breaking News, Obama, Religion on February 24, 2010 at 7:27 pm

Obama’s campaign to remove God from his new America is now facing international challenges.  Recently, the Chicago Council On Global Affairs, after a two-year study, determined the following:

(via Washington Post) American foreign policy is handicapped by a God gap, a narrow, ill-informed and “uncompromising Western secularism” that feeds religious extremism, threatens traditional cultures, and fails to engage and encourage religious groups that promote peace, human rights and the general welfare of their communities.

In the following video Obama mocks the Bible while remarking, “we are no longer a Christian nation”.

So that video was then, and this is now.  Obama’s choice is clear: stay God-neutral while foreign nations grow uneasy, or present a manufactured renewal of your faith to the world.  Strangely, I always believed one’s faith came before everything, not because(who knew foreign policy would eventually bring Obama closer to God?)

(Washington Post continued)

In its report, “Engaging Religious Communities Abroad: A New Imperative for U.S. Foreign Policy,” the council’s 32-member task force warns of a serious “capabilities gap” and recommends that President Obama and his National Security Council make religion “an integral part of our foreign policy.”

The 99-page report was issued Tuesday and delivered to the White House, which is studying the issue, said Thomas Wright, the council’s executive director of studies. Some members of the independent task force also are working with the White House commission and they have been trading notes, Wright said. “We’re confident that everyone agrees this is a priority for this administration, not a matter of if we need to do this but how. We hope this report will give them a framework for how,” Wright said.

It will be interesting to see if the recommendation brings about a ‘change’ in the President’s God policy.

Shocking VIDEO: Terrorist Abu Abdullah On CNN

In Muslims, Our Troops, Religion, terrorism, World News on February 19, 2010 at 2:07 am

Abdu Abdullah, a British born citizen who only recently converted to Islam justifies the attacks on 9/11 with his new-found religion.

(Source: Free-abu-hamza.co.uk) He may be may be one of the most controversial men walking the streets of Britain right now. He’s a convert to Islam that mixes no words about his adoration for Osama Bin Ladin and his hatred for the United States.  CNN’s Dan Rivers sat down for this eye-opening interview of Abu Abdullah.

From the transcript:

Rivers: You love Osama Bin Ladin?

Abdullah: I love him more than myself.

Rivers: Do you think that America and Britain will be subjected to more attacks?

Abdullah: It should be.

Radical Islam. Not much more to say.

God Bless America…

5 Muslim Soldiers Arrested For Attempting To Poison Food At Fort Jackson

In Government Lies, living free, military, Muslims, Obama, Our Troops, Pakistan, Religion, terrorism on February 18, 2010 at 10:07 pm

Just before Christmas five Muslim soldiers were arrested for trying to poison food at Fort Jackson.  While I am sure Obama is shocked by the news, rational America smells terrorism, again.  I have two questions; first, how many connected incidents need occur before Obama accepts that radical Islam is a threat to America’s security. Second, if this attempted poisoning happened before Christmas, why are we just hearing about it now?

CBN Breaks the story:

CBN News has learned exclusively that five Muslim soldiers at Fort Jackson in South Carolina were arrested just before Christmas. It is unclear whether the men are still in custody. The five were part of the Arabic Translation program at the base.

The men are suspected of trying to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson.

A source with intimate knowledge of the investigation, which is ongoing, told CBN News investigators suspect the “Fort Jackson Five” may have been in contact with the group of five Washington, DC area Muslims that traveled to Pakistan to wage jihad against U.S. troops in December. That group was arrested by Pakistani authorities, also just before Christmas.

Coming as it does on the heels of November’s Fort Hood jihadist massacre, this news has major implications.

Stay tuned to this blog for more details.

Could Obama be protecting the reputation of his faith, Islam?  As a Christian let me be the first to say: if radical Christians were killing innocent people in the name of Christianity I would be the first to recognize and condemn the evil.  Only time will tell how this terrorist act will be recognized (now that it’s public).

Abortion Is Murder; Pro-Abortionists Lie To Sleep At Night

In abortion, Government Lies, Health Care, Integrity, morality, Obama, Religion, World News on February 4, 2010 at 3:21 am

As I have followed and posted on the Tim Tebow pro-life Superbowl ad set to run this coming Sunday, I uncovered some horrifying and morbidly unethical pro-murder advocates in the process. First, I would like to show you, with amazing new technology, the children whom pro-choicers refer to as “a clump of cells”. With new 3D ultrasound machines mothers can now see exactly what their babies look like before they are born.

Here is an image of a baby sucking his thumb:

You can see the contours of the face, the individual fingers and even the habits of the unborn child. The gift of life has never been so clear.

In this next photo, you can see the baby actually smiling inside the whom and out:

Truly unbelievable.

This next picture shows the baby’s body and limbs as clear as day:

What a miracle.

Finally, a split photo of an unborn child next to the same child after it was born:

Look at the striking resemblance between the two photos.

Mind you it’s 2:57 am Thursday morning and I am having trouble sleeping; not from of a compromised conscience rather, two cups of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. As I enjoy my caffeine overload I begin to click through web pages at a steady speed of mach 12. As I click through hundreds of pages, I reach one that leaves me scratching my head: “Abortion Is Prolife”-yep, it’s real. Let me share with you what I found: Read the rest of this entry »

Women's Media Group Trying To Ban Pro-Life Superbowl Ad Featuring Tim Tebow

In freedom, Health Care, Integrity, living free, morality, Religion on January 27, 2010 at 1:11 am

Imagine how damaging a pro-life ad during the Super Bowl might be? People all over the world would be forced to think twice before taking an innocent life-the horror. NYDailyNews.com reports:

Tim Tebow hasn’t even made it to the NFL, but his Super Bowl ad is already creating controversy.

Several women’s groups have argued that the spot, which is believed to be a pro-life ad featuring Tebow and his mother, is an advocacy ad and is inappropriate for Super Sunday.

“An ad that uses sports to divide rather than to unite has no place in the biggest national sports event of the year – an event designed to bring Americans together,” said Jehmu Greene, president of the New York-based Women’s Media Center.

Also joining Women’s Media Center in the protest are the National Organization for Women and the Feminist Majority.

A CBS spokesman said the script for the 30-second ad has been approved and did not feel that any protest would have an impact.

The Tebow advertisement “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life” is sponsored by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family, and is thought to revolve around the story of Pam Tebow.

Pam Tebow will likely recount how she became ill while pregnant with her fifth son during a mission in the Philippines. Ignoring doctors’ suggestions to abort the child, she gave birth to Tim who went on to become the celebrated Florida Gators quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner.

Tim Tebow was asked about the ad while preparing for the upcoming Senior Bowl.

“I know some people won’t agree with it, but I think they can at least respect that I stand up for what I believe,” Tebow said.

Thirty-second Super Bowl spots are selling for $2.5 million to $2.8 million.

Focus on the Family claims that the funding will not come from their general accounts, but instead was donated by a few “very generous friends.”

The Christian group says the furor over the ad is much ado about nothing.

“There’s nothing political and controversial about it,” said Gary Schneeberger, a spokesman for Focus on the Family. “When the day arrives, and you sit down to watch the game on TV, those who oppose it will be quite surprised at what the ad is all about.”

The Women’s Media Center saved much of the ire and protest specifically for the conservative group.

“By offering one of the most coveted advertising spots of the year to an anti-equality, anti-choice, homophobic organization, CBS is aligning itself with a political stance that will damage its reputation, alienate viewers, and discourage consumers from supporting its shows and advertisers,” stated a letter from the women’s group.

(Houston, Tx) Muslim Man Beheads 2-Year Old Niece With Machete-Kills 5 Total

In Corruption, Muslims, national security, Religion, terrorism on January 26, 2010 at 2:17 am

(Source: Associate Press) – “BELLVILLE, TX — Authorities have charged a 20-year-old man with capital murder in the shooting deaths of five family members, including his 2-year-old niece who also was decapitated.

Maron Thomas remains jailed under a $1 million bond, accused in the deaths of his mother, stepfather, sister, brother and niece.

Investigators said Wednesday that an ongoing family dispute led to the shootings, but they declined to give additional details.

The bodies of the five individuals were discovered Sunday in their single-story brick home in Bellville, a town of about 4,000 people 55 miles northwest of Houston.

Thomas was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday after a homeowner pulled a gun on him after he broke into a vehicle and tried to break into a home 1 1/2 miles from where the murders took place.”

ABC Local News has a VIDEO Report on the story.

(Source: Gateway Pundit via Chron.com)-“The massacre happened between midnight Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday at the family’s home 7 miles outside the Bellville city limits, on FM 1456 between Buckhorn and Cochran.

Thomas then allegedly burglarized a car and was arrested around 3 a.m. after being caught trying to break into a house a mile and a half away while he was naked, investigators said. A neighbor held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived and arrested him on burglary charges. When deputies arrived, he had put on a pair of exercise shorts…

Thomas’ sister, Ka’Tara Price, 24, of Houston, said she believes anger and Thomas’ conversion to the Muslim religion influenced his actions. She said she is not aware of him suffering from any mental illness.”
