Ozzie Guillen Calls Sean Penn A "Clown" And "Stupid Leftist" On Twitter

In America, freedom, funny, living free, sports on March 15, 2010 at 11:04 am

(By Nathan R. Jessup)

I first saw this story on Gateway Pundit.  Here are Ozzie’s Tweets:

“Oh my god sean penn defended our president hugo chavez thats easy when you no live in venezuela and have money lol is a joke shame on you”

“Oh god you are very crazy go and move to our country you will change you mind”

White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen, a Venezuelan native, calls Sean Penn a “stupid leftist’ and “clown.”
The Chicago Tribune reported, via FOX Nation:

The outspoken White Sox manager called Penn a “payaso” (clown) and “izquierdista estupido” (stupid leftist) on Twitter Friday for his praise of controversial Venezuela President Hugo Chavez.

“Oh my God, Sean Penn defended our President Hugo Chavez,” Guillen, a Venezuela native, tweeted. “That’s easy when you [don’t] live in Venezuela and have money. LOL…shame on [you].”

Sounds to me like Venezuela might be a little bit different than our Hollywood elite suggest.  I’m not sure about you, but I will trust the native Venezuelan over the rich, American actor.  Penn’s comments are yet another example of how truly out-of-touch Hollywood is with the world.

Please Pass The Salt

In America, Congress, freedom, funny, Health Care, living free, Obama, Opinion, US Senate on March 11, 2010 at 7:02 pm

(By Joanne Galloway)

(Source: Newsbusters) Is it “crossing the line” to ban salt from use in restaurant kitchens? That’s what MSNBC’s Tamron Hall asked of her viewers shortly before 3 p.m. on March 11.

To discuss the issue, she interviewed New York State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz (D) on his proposed legislation calling for a ban of salt use in Empire State restaurant kitchens. Each violation would carry a $1,000 fine.

Now she has a reason to be sad… No more salt in NYC restaurants?

It’s the precursor for “when and if” the US Government ever takes over your healthcare.   We’ve already got senators pitching a biometric Federal ID microchip *and the seventh seal cracked* , and part of the Healthcare bill employs a “healthcare card” that works with and has access to your checking accounts *you didn’t know? It’s in the bill* – how long do you think it will take the government to host your vital stats on your new Healthcare biometric dog tags? It will become the all in one card – who you are, where you live, your health records, vital stats, GPS, ATM card – you’ll become a human iPhone app!   Well really, is it that absurd an idea?

If the US Government is going to be dolling out “free” healthcare, to keep costs low – they’ll do everything they can to keep you safe from yourself!  Imagine –   if your BMI is determined to be too high, you won’t be allowed to purchase certain things *denied*  Some alarm will go off and the self checkout at the grocery store will forbid your purchase….*fat man walking, no Cheetos for you, one year!* I can already see the speakeasys making a comeback – only this time, it’ll be underground Mickey D’s – there will be a fast food, nicotine, red meat *gasp* salt-caved underground for those who can’t “dog tag” their way through a check out line.

Where the heck is my aluminum foil hat – must have recycled it.

Now I know why that umbrella girl looks so sad.

Jed Brandt: "Communism Is The Answer To Our Problems"

In America, communism, Corruption, freedom, living free, Obama, Socialism, Tea Party on March 4, 2010 at 7:02 pm

In this video Jed Brandt refers to Communism and Socialism as the answer to America’s problems.  Brandt, a self-proclaimed Communist, spends six minutes here defining his America and how to get there; what he says may horrify you.

Who is Jed Brandt?

(Source: Wikipedia)

Raised in West Virginia, Brandt relocated to Chicago. He was a founder of Youth Against Apathy, a high-school network with communists, anarchists and bohemian youth from across Northern Illinois.

At age 15, he was tried on felony charges of aggravated battery (on a police officer) after “unarresting” someone from a squad of riot police in front of Chicago’s main military recruiting station on the eve of a threatened US invasion of Nicaragua. Hospitalized in the arrest with multiple contusions. He was exonerated when the bite mark allegedly delivered by Brandt on the arresting officer’s hand did not match his slightly crooked teeth.[citation needed]

In 1996, Brandt, along with student leaders from across the city, formed the Student Liberation Action Movement. He was the editor of the radical CUNY-wide tabloid Spheric, and then the Hunter College Envoy, founded by the editor of the National Guardian, James Aronson. Both newspapers received awards from the Campus Alternative Journalism Project for reporting and graphic design.

Jed was also briefly a member of the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade, where he burned an American flag of the steps of the Art Institute of Chicago, an act he said was in solidarity with all humanity and for “a world without borders.”

Brandt was a staff illustrator for Vibe Magazine, and has done publication design and reporting for LeftTurn, Political Affairs, Monthly Review online, and numerous other publications. His first investigative article was written on the police torture case involving Chicago’s then-Commander of Detectives John Burge, for the now-defunct Revolutionary Worker newspaper.

Brandt studied philosophy and history at the City University of New York, Hunter College, with an emphasis on legal and social systems theory. He is currently in Kathmandu, Nepal, reporting on the Himalayan revolution.

Unfortunately, Jed Brandt, the Communist threat to America, and the Socialist agenda are all very real threats facing our precious nation.  Exposing a radicals like Brandt is the first step in preservation. Oh, one last thing: is it coincidence that his radical ideas came from Chicago?

[Moderator’s note]: Generally we do not debate with those who express pro-capitalist viewpoints. On the possibility there might be a fruitful exchange of ideas, we let this one proceed, but at this point it’s becoming a counter-productive diversion from the purpose of this website.

Baseball, Big Government And Fenway Park

In America, living free, Obama, Opinion, Red Sox, Uncategorized on February 26, 2010 at 2:57 am

America: land of the free and home of the brave.  Each summer, the words of Francis Scott Key sound off in ballparks across America.  Over the past thirty years I have enjoyed many magical moments at Fenway Park.  In a way I am unable to explain, America’s oldest ballpark brings me comfort and relief when I seem to need it most.  As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I am able to advise which beer lines are the shortest, which restrooms to avoid between innings and which sections will have your neck feeling like you just got rear-ended by a truck going sixty (sections 7, 8 and 9-watching the game with your head turned ninety degrees takes its toll).  You see, certain aspects of Fenway remain unchanged, and I count on that.

Frustrated by America’s new direction I found myself contemplating, “What might Government possibly learn from the home of the Green Monster?”  For starters, it can learn its role as was originally intended.  As a fan, I know my role; it is to cheer, boo (when needed) and above all, support my team through good times and bad.  Similarly, Government’s role is to support the American people by maintaining and protecting the field on which we play; it’s not to play with us.

In recent years our Federal Government has boldly given in to its desire to play on the people’s field.  Since President Obama’s inauguration, the public-sector infection has spread throughout the auto industry, the banking industry, health care and the climate (even mother nature can’t escape Government regulation).  With the current administrations lack of private-sector experience (less than 11%) it’s no wonder they want to give it a shot.  I’m sorry Government; Medicaid, Amtrak and the US Post Office all resulted in disaster and nobody wants you to play anymore.

Sadly, the Federal Government has the power, should they abuse it, to force their way onto our field.  It’s time for big Government to return to the job for which it was constructed: preserve and maintain the field of play.  America’s arena is now overrun with weeds and desperately needs repair.  While “America’s groundkeeper” doesn’t have the flashiest ring, it remains an essential job in preserving our nation’s prosperity.  The people have spoken and government needs to return to its job.  To my Government: “As an American and devoted member of Red Sox Nation, I ask you do us all a favor and get off the field, you didn’t make the team.”

With spring training just around the corner I eagerly await a new season where anything can happen.  Furthermore, I look forward to seeing the game I love played on the field I know so well.  Perhaps someday Government will understand that high-level play requires a consistent, well-maintained field-with no fan interference.

CPAC: My Hero, Thaddeus McCotter Speaks Simple Truth

In America, Congress, CPAC, freedom, Integrity, living free, morality, Tea Party, Thaddeus McCotter, US Senate on February 23, 2010 at 12:05 am

McCotter’s dry humor and simple analysis of the current administration’s agenda continues to win over American patriots. America needs more simple-speaking public servants like Thad McCotter.  The more I read the writings of our Founding Fathers the more I realize how far our current politicians have fallen. Principles are simple, Thaddeus gets it.

Tomorrow is a new day, let’s make it a good one.
