President Obama has a secret plan for you: he wants you as weak as possible.  Think about it, The Tea Party isn’t exactly the easiest group for Government to control; they are strong.  On the other hand, the emotionally driven Left abandon what few principles they have to follow a smooth-talking, shell of a man.  The more dependent Americans become on their government, the stronger that government becomes.  Fearing America’s resistance to the master plan, Obama’s Socialist experiment largely remains a secret.  Our beloved country’s founders feel Americans are best served by self-governance, and I agree.

In the Chronicles of Narnia, C.S. Lewis highlights the use of  “Turkish Delight” to control those opting for only a taste.  After reading the first book of the enchanted series, it becomes clear that choosing to sample the delicacy is irreversible; like heroin.  Lewis portrays the evil White Witch as initially kind and accommodating that is, until her victims eventually accept her addictive offering.  When the Witch’s targets taste her gift they then abandon any preexisting moral code for just one more sampling.  Sound familiar?

Throughout history progressives have fought for control in the name of  “social justice”; who doesn’t like social justice? When hearing names like progressive, social justice, and affordable health care it’s hard not to think, “sign me up!” But what if the name has nothing to do with what is really being delivered? After further investigation Americans are finally waking up to the reality that the programs pushed by the current Administration are not what they seem.

Like Obama’s 17 minute, 2600 word response to the question, “do you really think it is a good idea to add more taxes during such difficult economic times?”, government tends to over-complicate the most basic of ideas. In an effort to explain, let’s dumb it down: First, the only money government collects is that which is earned [and then paid out] by American citizens. The money government collects should then be used to give back basic services to its people. Basic. So why is the Obama administration abandoning an idea most third-graders would understand? The President needs your tax dollars to buy more Turkish Delight (i.e. welfare and health care).

Large, private insurance companies are essentially labeled, “organized crime” by Obama. Interesting; I always imagined organized crime would make more than a 3-4% profit. Nonetheless, government is weakening the nation through entitlement and selling the idea with deception. When government increases taxes, they are directly implying their spending ideas are wiser than the those of the very people who pay the way. Further, if government truly wanted to fix what is wrong with the private health insurance industry they would allow people to receive coverage across state lines-too simple I guess. Instead our concerned law-makers felt the need to “take over” the entire industry.

I guess the real question is: how do you want to live your life? Would you prefer to earn your money, keep it, and decide how to best spend it, or hand it over to a reckless government and have them spend it for you? Before you decide, just remember Medicare ran over budget by eight fold (that’s a lot of taxation).

Finally, I would urge every American to stop and think before accepting the “gift” of government-run anything. Tony Soprano, the White Witch and Barack Obama all show tremendous hospitality to their new friends but I wouldn’t recommend becoming an old one. Stay strong America and remember to pass on the Turkish Delight.

  1. Excellent article. The seductiveness of promises of free benefits has always trapped the unwary.
