Bribes, Ben And Back-Room Politics

In Corruption, Government Lies, Health Care, Integrity, morality on December 31, 2009 at 4:01 pm

Health care reform, such a wonderful idea in theory; extend coverage to millions, improve care, find better doctors [somewhere], full coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, taming evil insurance companies and lower costs for small business all while protecting Medicare. Wow. And the best part of the proposed legislation: it significantly reduces our national deficit. With all the thoughtful amenities Harry Reid and company are unselfishly offering, how could any sane American refuse? Just sayin’.

Now back to reality.  When you hear “Senators are mostly an honest bunch” or “Congress only wants what is best for the American people”, what sorts of things come to mind? Personally, I struggle to refrain from laughing aloud. Now maybe you are one of the few who truly believe members of Congress are an honest and decent collection of patriots (no, seriously). I just can’t seem to get around the pesky facts: Read the rest of this entry »

Scott Brown's First TV Commercial Release

In Scott Brown on December 30, 2009 at 5:42 pm

We are about two hours away from Scott’s arrival and looking forward to the opportunity. I imagine we will have a tremendous turnout and raise a bit for the campaign. For all those unable to attend, you can still give HERE. The end of the year marks a very important milestone in Scott Brown’s journey; on the 1st of the year the GOP will decide how much funding their candidate is given based on how much they raise. For this reason, it is imperative that anyone interested in supporting a real change in Washington do it before the end of December. A special thanks to all who have generously supported Scott’s run for US Senate. And remember, if you happy with how things are going in America, Scott is not your man…

The Inconvenient Truth About Morality

In freedom, Government Lies, Health Care, Integrity, living free, morality, Uncategorized on December 23, 2009 at 8:54 pm

“Truth has no special time of its own. Its hour is now – always.” Albert Schweitzer

What is the biggest threat to America’s future? Some argue health care reform, some global warming or perhaps the war in Afghanistan, all serious problems. The real enemy is a far stronger and more illusive adversary then any of the aforementioned, moral vacuity.

Today, it’s difficult to imagine a Country without greed and corruption. Even Tiger Woods, a once pillar of integrity, now reveals his many surrenders to selfish desire. Oddly, Americans look to one another for moral stability, a constantly shifting platform to say the least. Over time, the proverbial house of cards grows taller with little or no attention to its most precarious foundation.

Without question, the United States has endured a myriad of challenges throughout its last decade. Some examples: 9/11, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, a skyrocketing deficit, hurricane Katrina, the wildfires of southern California, the horrific Ft. Hood massacre and many others. As we rest on the brink of sweeping health care and climate reform, one can only wonder, might this be the card that brings down the house?

Sheldon Whitehouse Finally Gets Noticed

In Uncategorized on December 22, 2009 at 12:29 am

Sheldon Whitehouse. There’s a household name. Recently, Sheldon Whitehouse blurted, all who oppose this health care bill are white supremacists. His carefully chosen words finally landed his name in the news. Whitehouse remarks:

And why? Why all this discord and discourtesy, all this unprecedented destructive action? All to break the momentum of our new young president.

They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.

Isn’t it interesting that Conservatives question policy, and Liberals respond with accusations of racism? It seems nearly impossible to communicate with the new, emotionally unstable Majority. What you seem to be missing Mr. Whitehouse is, the majority of Americans are dissatisfied with Congress and President Obama because of policy, not skin color.  As proud as you must be with your day in the sun, I must request your expedient return to political anonymity.

Prostitution; "Senate Style"

In Corruption, Government Lies, Health Care on December 21, 2009 at 11:10 pm

[Politico Story]

Majority Leader “Dirty” Harry Reid explains to opposing Senators, you snooze, you lose. Reid is using American Tax dollars to bribe this bill across the finish line. For arguments sake, let’s just assume supporters of this bill truly are concerned with providing better health care to Americans; why with such a morally righteous agenda would you ever succumb to private drafting, bribery and deception? You wouldn’t.

Moral selectivity does not exist. One cannot choose when he or she summons morality. One is either moral or they are not. Many politicians would have you believe they care only about what is best for the American people (how many times have we heard that?). The truth is, most politicians care only for appearance. After all, public sentiment is the only real factor in getting re-elected. If only the health care bill were a sting operation, half of our Senators would be arrested for prostitution. What’s your price?

It's Nearly 1 am-Do You Know Where Your Senator Is?

In Corruption, freedom, Government Lies, Health Care, living free, Socialism on December 21, 2009 at 12:48 am

Here is your future. The Senate floor sounds like a bunch of children arguing. This vote should be about the American people. It disgusts me the way this bill is being ramrodded through Congress. Further, the abuse of power by the Democratic majority is sickening. Are you happy with a completely partisan passage? This is not how our government was designed to function. Buy-offs, lies, closed-door discussions, personal agendas and the opportunity to make history are to be our collective demise. Sen. Chris Dodd said a few minutes ago, “this bill is about not having to be afraid”; with all due respect Senator Dodd, it is you whom we fear the most.  By the time you read this post, the vote will be cast. I am signing off for tonight. God Bless America.
