Wasn’t me, Holder made the decision…

I first saw this video on Gateway Pundit

Is Obama a child? He says this is Holder’s call? Hang on a second, is the Commander in Chief not the highest legal authority in the nation? Is this simply another case of Obama doing what he does best….appearing to play it as neutral as possible with a controversial issue? Just so we are perfectly clear, regardless of the decision made by Holder, the President has the final say. Hence, with his inaction, Obama is showing his complete support in NY hosting a civilian trial for the terrorists.

Yahoo News reports:

“Failure is not an option. These are cases that have to be won. I don’t expect that we will have a contrary result,” said Holder. “We need not cower in the face of this enemy.”

Mr. Holder, do you really think America is cowering in the face of the enemy if it is against the terrorists being tried in civilian court?  Don’t you just love the ‘spin’? Hang on, hang on…ok, just so I have this correct:  if I want a military tribunal for the terrorists, I am cowering in the face of this enemy?  Boy am I glad we have such fearless leaders that are not afraid of putting American lives at risk.  How lucky we are.

(taken from the NewAmerican)

Todd: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed — Can you understand why it is offensive to some for this terrorist to get all the legal privileges of an American citizen?

Obama: I don’t think it will be offensive at all when he is convicted, and when the death penalty is applied to him.

Todd (aside): Pressed on whether he was prejudging a verdict, the former constitutional law professor expressed confidence in the government’s case.

Obama: What I said was that people will not be offended if that’s the outcome. I’m not prejudging, and I’m not going to be in that courtroom. That’s the job of the prosecutors, the judge and the jury.

I am pretty sure you said, “when” he is found guilty Mr. President, not “If”. You are a bright guy…you understands the difference. Is this the fair American Justice system you were looking to show the world? This isn’t going to end well.

  1. It is nearly unbelievable that the attorney general and the President of the US should demonstrate such ignorance or willful disregard for the fundamental principles of law and reason as he has shown here. The issues are to numerous to even cite, here.

Excellent blog. One of the best sites I have seen. The links, layout, and content are all exceptional. Thank you.

  2. For Obama to indicate this was Holder’s call is, initially, absurd. After all, a sitting President would never allow something this big to be decided by an underling. But this is not any Presidency. This is the guy who voted “Present” for years. I believe Obama is incapable of making a decision for fear of being held accountable for it. He allows Geithner to formulate the bailouts, Reid and Pelosi to develop a healthcare bill, Waxman and Markey to develop Cap and Trade. He doesn’t weigh in, he doesn’t drive the issue. He waits MONTHS on national defense and will never close GITMO.

That he would defer to the AG no longer surprises.

It’s Amateur Hour at the White House.

  3. Steve,

When you are a man of character and backbone it resonates from the rafters. Reagan would make decisions based on what was “right” and often welcomed the criticism that stemmed from his choice. That is part of the job. Obama will never exude this intangible because it cannot be “faked”. Character, the forgotten commodity.
